The Physio Academy @ Chelmsford has been established at the Essex County Cricket Ground since 2014. Since its inception the clinic has been providing professional and quality physiotherapy services to the people of Chelmsford and surrounding areas of Essex. Orthopaedic consultants from leading London hospitals such as Fortius/Wellington Hospitals and local private hospitals refer their patients to the clinic, to insure they have the right post-operative care and best possible outcomes. Additionally, local GP practices trust in sending their patients to the Chelmsford Physio Clinic for good quality advice and treatment. However, not all need a referral from a medical professional and we accept bookings for people with injuries that are looking to book them self without any referral.

Clinic Director and Lead Physiotherapist, Chris Clarke-Irons is a highly specialised physiotherapist. He is 1 of 1200 musculoskeletal physiotherapists in the UK who have reached a recognised standard of excellence since qualifying in 2006. This standard ensures that Chris and his team will provide an excellent standard of care in examination, treatment and management of your injury. Chris has been leading the Physio Academy @ Chelmsford clinic since 2014, as well as working full time within professional sport since 2010. In 2018-19 Chris toured with the England Cricket Team in Australia.  

In 2021, the Physio Academy @ Chelmsford has been relaunched to provide Physio and Fitness Services within Essex, which including an upgrading of the facilities and equipment. The clinic is now offering Personal Training and Strength & Conditioning training. This, again being offered by Fitness experts who have studied to Masters degree level/UKSCA accredited and have a proven track record in provide results for professional sportspersons to people that just need a bit of encouragement to being more active again.
